Launching onto the scene at the start of the 2019 with their debut single “Buying Friends” it quickly garnered airplay on Metal Meyhem Radio and was picked up by several notable Spotify playlists. Music blogs picked up on the band too, Play Up Pompey Music ( described the single as “The best f**cking thing I have heard from a Pompey band in a long time.” On The House ( described the debut single: “The vocals are fantastic, incredibly formidable, and impressively intense – blending in well with the stomping lead guitar riff that commands the entire track throughout.”

The bands fearsome live reputation preceded them as they blasted across the South Coasts live circuit from Brighton to Southampton sharing the stages with the best of the underground scenes rising bands such as Stone Angels, Trouble County, Indya and Morass of Molasses to name a few. The band were also invited to support Whitfield Crane (of Ugly Kid Joe fame) and former The Fall members Imperial Wax as well as making it to the semi-final of the Wedgewood Rooms 2019 Showcase. One startled audience member stated “I have seen audiences run towards bands, I have never seen a band jump off the stage and run towards their audience!”

2020 started strong with the new 5 track EP “A Brief History Of Broken Bones” which was preceded by the single and video “The Concentration Camps of Trump’s America!”.

Picking up momentum after the covid break, the band have come back stronger with new recordings “End Times Anxiety” and “God’s Mistake”. They smashed through a set at the Ice Breaker Festival and have been guests in Southamptons Voice FM studios.

Band name

Each member put some names in a hat and we all picked the one we liked best, this one seemed unanimous. It comes from a Butch Walker song title (Closer to the Truth, Further from the Sky). All the members were a fan of him, but each knew him from different bands (Southgang, Marvelous3 and solo).

Buying Friends single:

Recorded at Brighton Electric, home to Royal Blood and have recorded Black Honey and Architects among others.

Mastered by Pete Maher, he has mastered acts such as U2, The Rolling Stones and Nine Inch Nails.

It was the first song written by the band. Has a Royal Blood feel as it was written when we were only a 2 piece. The finished article has some classic rock elements too, with vocals in a style of early 2000’s post hard core era

Released on December 14th 2018 via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc and direct from the band at their bandcamp page.
